Hatch Notes & News: Early April

Sunday, April 15, 5pm. Cafe 1923, 2287 Holbrook, Hamtramck. Board members and other leaders, please come at 4pm for an executive meeting.

The education committee will be having a special meeting Monday, April 9, 6pm; also at Cafe 1923.

Thursday, April 12
Saturday Workshop Registration Begins

Classes will be held at Peoples Community Services, 8625 Joseph Campau, Hamtramck. There will be a $20 entrance fee per class, $15 for Hatch members.
Class details and registration forms will be available via this website beginning on 4/12. Class size is limited and registration deadline for any given workshop is 15 days before the workshop date.

Friday, April 13, 7pm - 10pm
Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School: Fringe Festival edition
, Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, 350 Madison St, Detroit.
This'll be a DS session like nothing you've experienced. Right now the plan is to have three fantastic dancer/models from Causing A Scene Productions posing simultaneously in different locations, so you can migrate around and draw your hearts out. Anyone who comes to draw gets a discount on admission to the entire event - only $15 to get in, $20 off the original ticket price! If you are interested in participating, RSVP to get the discount. The Fringe Festival starts at 7pm Friday and runs 'til 1:30am Sunday. More details at and at our Dr. Sketchy site

Detroit Gallery Crawl

Meet at Cafe 1923 at 12 pm, we will plan our route and carpool from there. This May we plan on hitting some of Detroit's lesser known, out-of-the-way galleries. Alley Culture was mentioned, as was the Johanson Charles Gallery. If you would like to suggest a possible destination, please contribute to the message board discussion started here:
