Hatch congratulates member & exhibitor Cedic Tai, 2009 Kresge Fellow in the Visual Arts. The Kresge fellowship provides artists with the time and resources to explore, to experiment and to develop their work more fully over the year-long fellowship period. Kresge Arts in Detroit is pleased to provide the support that will help these outstanding artists continue to pursue their professional careers and contribute to the cultural vitality of our city and region.

Unfiltered, a celebration of outsider art curated by Mike Kelly, runs from July 11 - August 22, 2009 at Detroit Industrial Projects, 1610 Clay Avenue, Second Building, Third Floor, Detroit. Saturday 1-5pm or by appointment.

This month's Featured Artist in Detroit Artists Market's Elements Gallery (4719 Woodward Avenue, Detroit) is Carl Oxley III. Carl will be exhibiting a new LARGE piece entitled "HAMTRAMCK". In this new series of works, drawing inspiration from graphic novels, ancient hieroglyphs and pictographs, Oxley pushes forward from the single character image, dividing the panel into multiple scenes telling a larger story.
